Few women today find the support they need for dealing with breast cancer. That is why breast cancer organizations have, and continue to, set up support groups and workshops for both fighters and survivors. So how do you get in touch with these support groups?
Your local health care often provides such support at local hospitals or community centers. These are ongoing, more than often free, support groups for women at all stages of diagnosis, treatment and recovery. Try visiting your local hospital's website, or try calling them for more information.
National breast cancer organizations also provide support for women dealing with breast cancer. An example of a Canadian organization offering such support is the Canadian Cancer Society. Their website provides a list with local initiatives organized per district. If you are interested in joining a support group try their website at: www.cancer.ca
